Then, when people type in the keywords in search engines your articles will come up.  If not your articles, your web site will have a good chance of coming up because of the connection your articles will have with your web site.

At the end of every article you want to make sure to include a resource box.  The resource box is where you can mention your name or the company’s name along with a brief description of what your site has to offer.  Lastly, you can invite the reader to check out your site by clicking on the URL that you place at the end of the resource box.  This is a great way to get traffic with articles. The URL you place in the resource box does not have to be directed to the home page of your site though if you do not want it to be.  It does get the best use from your home page, but it is not required.  If you are promoting a specific product in the article, you can place a link to the page that talk more about the product.  If you are promoting an affiliate program, you can place a link to the affiliate’s page as well.

Once you have created these articles you will want to submit them to as many article directories as possible.  The more directories your article is in, the more back links you have and the more chances people have of catching your article.  There are hundreds of thousands of article directories to submit your articles to.
